We are back in action with Major League Baseball this evening and Game 5 between the Guardians and the Rays. Fanatics Sportsbook wants you to get in on the action as well and is offering $350 in FanCash from a $20 wager using promo code FOXNEWS 350.
The series has been a battle between two teams that have some of the lowest payrolls in baseball. With the upcoming labor agreement negotiations, it is almost certain that players will use these two teams to say there is no need for a salary cap because the Rays or Guardians and Brewers made it to the World Series.
Before we get to that point, though, one of these teams has to break through. In Game 1, the Guardians were the aggressor, coming back in the second half of the game and scoring all of their runs. In Game 2, Freddy Peralta looked great for the Rays and knotted up the series before it headed to Cleveland.
Once it got to Cleveland, Game 3 went to the Guardians. The Rays took a lead around the middle of the game, but coughed it back up. In Game 4, we saw the Guardians jump out to an early lead, but the Rays got it back in the third inning. They then added a run in the top of the 6 th inning to take the lead. A big hit and crucial error helped get Tampa three in the top of the seventh. They added two insurance runs in the ninth, and the series is now tied coming into today’s Game 5.
