Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he is ready for a peace deal that will freeze the war along the current line of contact. However, he has added that Ukraine will not agree to recognise that "the territory which is temporarily occupied will be Russian territory" .

Details: Asked whether he would be willing to "give up 25% of Ukraine" as part of a deal, Zelenskyy said no, explaining that Russian forces had occupied a smaller percentage of the country's territory.
Quote: "When somebody speaks about 25% it means that we have to live by ourselves from all the Donbas and it will mean they [the Russians] will control 25%. Now they control 19. 3%."
Details: Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine would not agree to recognise temporarily occupied territory as Russian, adding that he had heard such proposals.
In the interview, the president also reiterated that restrictions on Starlink remain in place .
Zelenskyy further said that Ukraine had received 24 Patriot missiles from its strategic partner over the past 90 days.

Background: On 21 October in Saint Petersburg, a meeting took place between US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. It lasted for about 3 hours . The talks in Russia took place the day after Witkoff met Zelenskyy and the leaders of Norway and Finland in Oslo. Putin told Witkoff that Moscow was ready to resume trilateral negotiations involving the US, Ukraine and Russia in the first ten days of November.
