Zelenskyy's commissioner: Russian missiles contain many US components

Russia continues to use American microchips in the production of ballistic and cruise missiles, as it has not yet managed to replace them with Russian components.

Source: Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy, cited by Interfax-Ukraine

Details: Vlasiuk said that there were very many American components, first of all in ballistic missiles and also in cruise missiles.

He also added that in 2025, Russians attempted to replace American microchips with Russian ones, but in 2026 they returned to using American-made microchips.

According to Vlasiuk, American components play a crucial role in Russian missiles, specifically in ensuring their accuracy and performance.

He also emphasised the need for full synchronisation of sanctions against Russian weapons manufacturers and more active work by law enforcement agencies to investigate and halt the supply of microelectronics to Russia.

The commissioner pointed out that in the Russian missiles there are components of foreign manufacture, including those from German companies, highlighting the need for tighter control over supply chains.
