Quote: "Starlink and Starshield are back to operating at the speeds they were capable of before these restrictions were imposed. Now we have the speed we need."

Details: Zelenskyy said speeds began to recover overnight and that by morning they had reached the level needed for military use.

"This is very important; it is significant for our frontline logistics and for protecting Ukraine from jet-powered Shahed drones," he noted.

Prior to this, the defence forces and experts from the Ministry of Defence recorded Starlink and Starshield operating at speeds exceeding 161 km/h.

The Ministry of Defence later officially confirmed that it was recording Starlink and Starshield speeds exceeding 400 km/h and that the connection was stable.

Background: A few days ago, Zelenskyy said that Starlink and Starshield equipment stopped working at speeds of 130-161 km/h in various sectors of the line of contact, disrupting logistics and limiting Ukraine's use of drones. On 16 October, US President Donald Trump claimed that the White House had not been involved in restricting Ukraine's use of the system. Meanwhile, The Telegraph reported that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk approached Trump with the idea of restricting the bandwidth of the Starlink and Starshield satellite networks used by the Ukrainian military.
