As part of the agreements with the Russian side, the Ukrainian authorities will not publish figures on how many residents of Oleshky chose to return to Ukraine or how many citizens left for the territory controlled by Russia.
Source: Dmytro Lubinets, Ukrainian Commissioner for Human Rights, at a press conference on 2 November
Quote: "I want everyone to understand this information, because what we did in Oleshky, in my view, is a potential mechanism that we can apply to other settlements where our citizens currently live under similar conditions."
Details: Lubinets said that the humanitarian disaster is not only in occupied Oleshky. A similar situation exists in several settlements of Kherson Oblast and in other oblasts.
Quote: "Therefore, officially, neither I nor the Russian side will name the numbers. I really do not want this to turn into 'who moved to whom more'. This does not contribute to objectivity. You have seen some news reports from non-Ukrainian journalists, I think you can draw conclusions on your own, without the publication of official figures."
Details: The ombudsman added that along with the residents of Oleshky, 105 pets were evacuated, including four parrots.

Background: US First Lady Melania Trump said that nearly 800 people were evacuated during a humanitarian mission carried out under the ceasefire in Oleshky, Kherson Oblast. Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for Russian ruler Vladimir Putin, has said that Moscow currently has no plans to conduct new "humanitarian operations" similar to the evacuation from temporarily occupied Oleshky.
