Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, has said Ukraine hopes to conclude negotiations on the first chapters of its EU accession process in early 2027 and on most chapters by the end of that year.

Details: Ukraine continues to prepare for the Interim Benchmark Assessment Report (IBAR). Zhovkva said Ukraine hopes to close some negotiating chapters as early as the beginning of 2027 and most of them by the end of the year.
Quote: "Four clusters are open today, and I'm absolutely sure we will have the rest two open by the end of the year. The work is ongoing in Ukraine on the preparation for IBAR. So we can start closing chapters – not a chapter, chapters – already in the first half of next year."
Zhovkva added that Ukraine hopes to continue its European integration path together with Moldova.
Quote: "There were already a lot of talks and speculations about Ukraine and Moldova. But do not consider these reports as a competition between our friends and partners from Moldova. Ukraine is operating under completely different conditions… And we go together hand in hand with Moldova aspiring for EU membership, which we started together and we should continue together."
Background: Ukraine's government and the European Commission established a Task Force at an early stage in order to secure approval within several months of draft laws regarding the rule of law and anti-corruption.
