Erdoğan stressed that the attacks are absolutely unacceptable to Türkiye, regardless of who carries them out or how they are justified. He urged all parties to act responsibly in this matter.

Erdoğan said Türkiye is continuing talks with the parties involved on restoring maritime security in the Black Sea. He believes an agreement on this issue could help advance diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine and achieve lasting peace.

He added that Türkiye plans to discuss the matter with Russia.

The Turkish president also said Türkiye has reaffirmed its support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, which it considers a strategic partner.

Background: Following his meeting with Erdoğan, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv and Ankara have agreed to work to restore the grain corridor and ensure maritime security in the Black Sea. Zelenskyy also said they would discuss maritime security in the Black Sea. In early October, Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed Black Sea security , among other topics.
