The veterinary centre's premises were damaged as a result of the strike. Krok do Tvaryn reported that by the evening of 28 October, they had cleared the area of glass and debris and boarded up shattered windows with plywood. The damaged cat houses, operating theatre and administrative rooms now need repairs.
Kind-hearted people took in 101 animals for temporary fostering. Severely ill and elderly pets remained at the centre for now. Krok do Tvaryn noted that anyone ready to take in those pets is welcome to do so in a few days.
Quote from the centre: "We are in touch and ready to take the animals back if things don't work out with someone! We are grateful to everyone who responded, but we know that sometimes emotions cause us to overestimate our strength. We will be grateful for feedback and further responsible treatment!"
Krok do Tvaryn has opened a fundraiser to help with the restoration of the premises.
Background: In early October in Kyiv Oblast, the Sadyba Niushanik, a bird sanctuary in Kyiv Oblast that cares for many birds and rescues dozens of orphaned storks every year, has been hit by a Russian strike. Around 190 birds were killed.
