Source: Dan on X (Twitter) , as reported by European Pravda
Details: Dan emphasised on the Russian involvement in a sabotage network implicated in an attempted arson attack on the grounds of a Romanian plant. Such actions are unacceptable and constitute a serious violation of Romania's sovereignty and security, Dan stated.
Quote from Dan: "No foreign state has the right to act in such a manner on the territory of Romania or other European countries. For years, Russia has been using a diverse arsenal of tools to weaken European democracies. Attempts to influence electoral processes, disinformation campaigns, information warfare, cyberattacks and acts of sabotage are all parts of the hybrid war that Russia is waging against Europe."
Details: The president commended the effectiveness of the country's intelligence services in uncovering the sabotage network.
Quote from Dan: "Romania will act decisively to prevent similar incidents, identify those involved and protect the citizens and critical infrastructure of the country. Meanwhile, we will continue to cooperate closely with our NATO allies and European Union partners."
Background: The Romanian Intelligence Service exposed a sabotage network coordinated from Russia that was involved in an attempted arson attack on the grounds of the Carfil weapons plant in Brașov on 14 September. A Ukrainian citizen and two Belarusians are suspected in the attempted arson. Nicușor Dan previously pointed out an increase in the number of Russian provocations on the territory of the European Union .
