Details: Two aircraft flying from Türkiye to Moscow were diverted due to restrictions at Vnukovo Airport amid the drone attack.

Meanwhile, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) imposed restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures at Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky (Ramenskoye) airports. The restrictions at Zhukovsky were lifted an hour later, but the other two airports were still accepting aircraft subject to approval.

Against this backdrop, Sobyanin claimed that 57 drones heading towards Moscow had been shot down. An air-raid warning was issued in Moscow Oblast at around 22: 00 local time.

According to Astra, three explosions were heard near the town of Naro-Fominsk, 56 kilometres from Moscow's main ring road, at that time, despite no drone noise being heard. Explosions were also heard one after another in the direction of Kaluga Oblast.

Update: Sobyanin later claimed that another 49 drones heading "towards Moscow" had been shot down.

As of 02: 15, Russian authorities claimed that 64 drones heading towards Moscow had been shot down since the beginning of the day.

As usual, Russian authorities did not report the consequences of the attack. However, in each statement about drones allegedly being shot down, Sobyanin noted: "Emergency service workers are working at the sites where debris has fallen."

After 04: 00, Sobyanin claimed that another 15 drones had been shot down.

At around 05: 00, the Moscow mayor said that another 30 drones "heading towards Moscow" had been "shot down".

As of 05: 00 , Russian authorities had reported a total of 109 such drones since the beginning of the day.

After 06: 00, Sobyanin said that 613 drones had flown towards Moscow Oblast between the evening of 28 October and the morning of 29 October.

He noted that most of them had been downed well before reaching the capital and 231 drones had been destroyed as they approached Moscow.

Background: Moscow authorities complained about drone attacks on two consecutive nights earlier this month.
