Quote: "I can confirm that indeed this week, on Wednesday, that is tomorrow, the European Commission will host a meeting with representatives from Ukraine, the United States, France, Germany, the UK, NATO and the World Bank."
Details: She noted that the European Commission itself would be hosting the meeting.
"This meeting will build on the previous talks held in Miami with the participation of Ukraine and the US, with the aim of achieving a lasting, sustainable peace in Ukraine," Pinho specified.
According to Pinho, the discussion "will focus on Ukraine's post-war reconstruction and prosperity" and, on the EU's part, will be held at the level of national security advisers.
Pinho also added that she had no information regarding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participating in any talks at the European Commission on 4 November.
Background: NATO previously confirmed an upcoming meeting between Alliance representatives and officials from France, Germany, the UK and the US in Belgium regarding security guarantees for Ukraine. Witkoff also announced that trilateral talks on ending the Russia-Ukraine war would take place on 10-11 November in the capital of the United Arab Emirates and would focus on further steps towards peace. The Ukrainian president previously said that, following a conversation between European leaders and the Kremlin leader, there is a sense that Russia is serious about a meeting between negotiating teams in Abu Dhabi. On 27 October Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre held a telephone conversation with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin on their own initiative.
