Details: The Lithuanian government plans to send medicines, infusion solutions, electrocardiographs, blood gas analysers, pumps and other medical equipment to Ukraine from the state stocks managed by the Ministry of Health.

The medical supplies are intended for the Zaporizhzhia Military Hospital and the Mechnikov Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Clinical Hospital under the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, taking into account the requests made by these medical institutions.

Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to organise the delivery of the humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian officials responsible.

The items to be transferred have been removed from the state inventory, so there are no plans to replenish stocks of them.

Background: On 6 October, in response to Ukraine's request for support, the Latvian government approved a delivery of humanitarian aid from the Latvian healthcare sector to Ukraine comprising medical equipment for patient care and emergency assistance, as well as ambulances. Further to an earlier decision to purchase diesel generators for Chernihiv Oblast, the Latvian Ministry of Economics will allocate the remaining funds to purchase another 12 diesel generators.
