Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said on Monday 26 October that a new package of military aid for Ukraine is ready.

Details: Tajani, leader of the centre-right Forza Italia party, announced the package after Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini said he would push to end Italy's economic and military aid to Ukraine.
"My position is well known: we stand with Ukraine and will continue to support it for as long as necessary. The next military aid package is already ready, and we will send it to Kyiv as soon as possible," Tajani said.
At a party meeting, Salvini also reportedly came under fire from moderate members who are unhappy with the party's continued shift to the right.
Background: Salvini has been re-elected leader of the far-right League party, which is part of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's governing coalition. Last autumn, Salvini said further aid to Ukraine could "fuel corruption".
