Energy workers explain frequent cancellations and reinstatements of emergency power outages

DTEK, the largest private energy company in Ukraine, has explained why emergency power outages are cancelled and then reintroduced multiple times a day.

Source: DTEK press service

Details: The main reason for this is the constant attacks on the energy system. There were about 20 strikes a day just yesterday.

Because of this, the situation can change very quickly, sometimes even several times an hour. DTEK dispatchers must balance the energy system in real time so that major accidents do not occur and the power does not go out completely.

That is why emergency power outages can be introduced and cancelled so frequently.

Background: In Kyiv, emergency power outages could not be cancelled throughout the day on 4 November. At around 14: 00, the capital and the oblast returned to scheduled power outages.
