Details: Amid massive Russian attacks on Ukraine, the Moldovan National Army's Air Operations Centre reported an unauthorised drone flight in Moldovan airspace.

The drone was detected at 16: 24, flying from the village of Semenivka in Ukraine's Odesa Oblast towards the village of Plopi in the Rîbnița district in the unrecognised breakaway region of Transnistria.

The drone was later spotted near the settlement of Bănești, Telenești district.

For security reasons, the military introduced airspace restrictions over northern and central Moldova.

At 16: 54, the drone disappeared from the Defence Ministry's radar near the village of Țibirica in Călărași district.

Moldova's Defence Ministry said it continues to monitor the country's airspace. It urged people not to approach any suspicious aircraft or debris they might find and to call the emergency services on 112 immediately.

Background: On 23 October, Moldova's Foreign Ministry condemned a drone's violation of the country's airspace and blamed Russia for the incident. After a drone was found in the village of Chiștelnița, just 100 metres from a residential building, the ministry announced plans to declare a Russian Embassy employee in Chișinău persona non grata . It was reported that Romania is negotiating with Moldova on the joint development of anti-drone programmes.
