With the NBA off for Election Day, hockey has Tuesday night to itself. Eleven NHL games are on the schedule, and the best of them puts Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl against Connor Hellebuyck in Newark. BetMGM is offering new users bonus code FOXNEWS to unlock up to $1, 500 in First Bet Cover. If your first wager loses, BetMGM refunds your stake in bonus bets.
The books have New Jersey as a home favorite, and the reason is in net. Hellebuyck is 2-0-0 with a 1. 50 goals-against average and a . 923 save percentage since joining the Devils. Edmonton’s Tristan Jarry has two shutouts and a 4-1-2 record, but his . 901 save percentage leaves less room for error. New Jersey also won the last meeting 2-1 in January, and the under is priced at -125.
That’s the case for the Devils. The case for Edmonton is simpler: no team in the league has two forwards like McDavid and Draisaitl. They run the top power play together, they can split up to stretch a defense across two lines, and they can turn a quiet game in a matter of shifts. Hellebuyck can steal games, but he hasn’t faced this kind of firepower yet in a Devils sweater.
A protected first bet is the right tool for taking a plus-money underdog with this kind of upside. Bet $100 on Edmonton to win and you collect $235 if the Oilers get it done. If New Jersey holds on, BetMGM refunds your $100 in bonus bets. With the two best players on the ice wearing orange, getting them as an underdog is a number worth taking.
